While researching for my presentation today, I ran across a few interesting projects and tools for visualization. Unfortunately, I won’t have time to talk about all of the cool projects I found, but I still wanted to share them with you here in case you are interested or feel like delving into these tools for future projects or inspiration.
The Next Rembrandt is a cool project that looks really pretty and challenges the idea of data visualization or what we normally think of when we say data visualization. The article I included has a video that walks you through how they made this project, but basically, that used data to create a work of art.

ImagePlot is a tool that you can use to visualize your entire collection of images. Now, it is not as user friendly as they lead you to believe (or at least not Heather friendly). You must tailor your data to use the tool if I understood it correctly. But I thought some of you might think it’s handy and can make better sense of it than I. (And, if you do, let me know!)

Lattice Uncertainty Visualization is speech recognition and translation visualization. It is not interactive sadly. What I found of the project are mostly screen shots and articles, but I still thought it was interesting and maybe something you may enjoy glancing at.
There is also a TED talk playlist on data visualizations!
